As we wrap up National School Breakfast Week, we're delighted to share that LC Schools has served an impressive 5,396 student breakfast meals this week! This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our food service team. We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Farley, our LC Food Service Manager, and Mrs. Hammond, our LC Food Service Clerk, for their unwavering commitment to planning delicious and nutritious meals for our students year-round. We also want to express our gratitude to all our schools' cafeteria staff, who work tirelessly to prepare tasty and healthy breakfasts and lunches. Your efforts are truly appreciated!




Congratulations to Blaine Elementary School for winning the LC Schools Attendance Challenge Contest from February 17th to February 28th! BES will proudly display the attendance trophy in their school for the next two weeks. The new attendance contest started on Monday, March 3rd and will run through Friday, March 14th! We are excited to see who will win this next round of the LC Schools Attendance Challenge and take home the trophy!

Today, Lawrence County Schools is celebrating the 100th Day of School! Many of our elementary schools have fun activities planned for the day. We hope our students and staff enjoy this special milestone! We have finally made it!


Lawrence County Schools has received an URGENT request for cleaning supplies for flood victims in our region. Donations should be taken to the LC Board of Education Office at 50 Bulldog Lane by noon on Wednesday, February 19th! We appreciate your help. Thank you in advance!


Today is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! We want to thank Officer Musick and Officer Powers for their service, hard work, and dedication to our students and schools! We appreciate all you do!


We are continuing to celebrate FRYSC Week! This week, we spotlight Fallsburg Elementary School's FRYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Brenda Curry. Mrs. Curry always seeks new ways to support students and their families. She is involved in various programs, including Readifest, the Veterans Day program, holiday assistance, food bank, backpack program, parenting classes, art showcase, and many more. Mrs. Curry explained, "Being a FRYSC Coordinator means being the bridge between families and the resources they need to thrive. Every day, I have the opportunity to make a difference, provide hope, and create a lasting impact in my community. I see firsthand how small acts of kindness and support can change lives."

Mrs. Whitt's 4th-grade students enjoyed working on a hands-on project to make a community warning system! The students used various configurations of their materials until they found the one that allowed the light and buzzer to alert simultaneously. They dove deep into this science activity and had so much fun!



Louisa Middle School extends an invitation to the rest of the LC School District to honor Mr. Sammons by wearing green on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Mr. Sammons was a Marshall University fan who attended games regularly. Let's wear green for Mr. Sammons!

Our counselors provide social and emotional learning lessons, work with students through Terrace Metrics surveys, and provide support whenever needed. The LC School Attendance Challenge starts tomorrow! It will run from Monday, February 3rd, through Friday, February 14th. The winning school will receive the traveling attendance trophy, a prize from the school, and, of course, bragging rights! Remember, attendance matters!
