The train crossings have been reopened! The last of our students at Louisa East have been picked up by their bus drivers, and the buses
will begin their regular afternoon routes. We truly appreciate everyone having patience and understanding throughout today's events!
Dear Parents,
Due to a train stopped on the tracks in Louisa, our bus dismissal time will be impacted.
This occurrence happened before dismissal, and we are working to provide alternative routes.
We'd like to ask for your patience as we deal with this logistics issue. Again, dismissal times will
be impacted and delayed!

Throughout October, we are honoring National Principals Month! Today, we are excited to share a fun Flashback Friday photo of Mrs. McDavid, who was crowned the 2001 LCHS Homecoming Queen. Mrs. McDavid reminisced about her high school years and fast-forwarded to the present. "When I think back on my own school days, I can honestly say I loved high school! I was involved in band, speech and drama, and pep club. Some of my favorite memories were made during competitions, performances, and trips. Those experiences taught me the value of teamwork, creativity, and leadership. Now, as principal, I get to see our students creating those same kinds of memories, and it reminds me every day why I love what I do."
Mrs. McDavid is proudly celebrating nearly 16 years of dedicated service in education! She began her career at Fallsburg Elementary School, where she taught for 12 years. After obtaining an advanced degree, she moved to Lawrence County High School, where she has served as an assistant principal for several years. Currently, she is in her second year as the principal of LCHS.
Mrs. McDavid radiates a vibrant and uplifting leadership style that motivates both her students and staff. She works closely with her outstanding team to prepare students for college or technical school programs, while also offering valuable apprenticeship and internship opportunities. Her primary goal is to achieve a high graduation rate for LCHS students, providing a clear roadmap in hand for a successful future. Mrs. McDavid's steadfast dedication to student achievement reflects her commitment to delivering an exceptional educational experience. She has an inspiring and motivational message to share with her LCHS students.
Dear Bulldogs,
When I first walked through the doors of Lawrence County High School as a student from Fallsburg Elementary, I was just hoping to find my place. Getting involved in school activities helped me meet new people and feel like part of the Bulldog family—and because of my involvement, I rode a plane and saw the ocean for the first time! Those experiences changed my life, and now I get to watch all of you make memories that will change yours. I love watching you pass your driver’s test, getting accepted into college, and deciding on a career.
I love watching you find your passions, cheering on your teammates, and taking every step that’s shaping you into the incredible people you’re becoming. I loved this school when
I graduated in 2002, but I love it even more now that I get to share in your joy every day.
With Bulldog Pride,
Mrs. McDavid
