National School Counseling Week is February 2nd - 6th, 2026! LC Schools wants to recognize and thank our guidance counselors for their dedication! Our counselors support students' academic progress, social-emotional learning, and career development, showing their commitment to student success. We appreciate their care and compassion that help create a safe, supportive school community. Thank you for making a difference every day! #LCisHome

Parents and guardians of all students in Lawrence County Schools, your input is important to us and will help us improve our Title I Parent Engagement. Please take a few minutes to complete the Title I Parent Engagement Survey using the link https://bit.ly/4bwpRey or the QR code. Your participation helps us serve our students better and makes you a key part of our improvement efforts. (Please note that the survey should be completed only once per family.) The deadline for completing the survey is March 29th. We appreciate your time and value your opinion. Feel free to share this QR code with other parents and guardians of students in Lawrence County Schools. #LCisHome

Tomorrow will have NTI Day 9. We would love to see our students during Google Meets. Remember, our teachers are there to support our students with any help they may need with assignments. We would also really like to see and hear from our students. We miss them!

Shout out to our Academic Team who has been having virtual practices and CONGRATULATIONS to these students who have hit milestones in practice.

Due to ongoing low temps and icy road conditions across the county, Lawrence County Schools will have NTI day 9 on Tuesday February 3. Please contact schools if you have any questions. We will reevaluate roads tomorrow and give an update on Tuesday afternoon. Stay safe and warm.

We would like to wish our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Misty Burton, a Happy National School Counseling Week. We are beyond grateful for all of the care, support, and love that Mrs. Burton has shown for the students, staff, and families of Louisa East Elementary School. From Character Counts lessons and lunchtime conversations to our morning dance parties in the lobby, Mrs. Burton is always ready to lead with a smile.

Lawrence County Schools will be closed Monday, February 2 due to icy roads and low temperatures. This is a traditional snow day and will be added to the end of the school year. We will recheck roads tomorrow and announce plans for Tuesday tomorrow afternoon. Stay safe and warm!

Congratulations to the newest member of the Louisa East Elementary School team, Jordanne Spillman. Jordanne is a familiar face around our hallways as she has been a substitute for us for a while now. We are excited to have Jordanne join our team and look forward to what she will contribute to our students and school.

As a reminder, any official information regarding dismissals, delays, or school closures will only be communicated through:
• Our official School District Facebook/Social Media pages
• The Lawrence County KY Schools website

Let's have a BULLDOG FRIDAY tomorrow! All things LC Bulldogs.

Due to continued reports of black ice on our roads, we are calling an NTI Day (Day #6) for today. We are making this decision out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Please call your child’s school or teacher if you have any questions. Thank you for your patience and understanding on this unusual weather morning. #LCisHome
