November 11th, Veterans Day, is just around the corner! Each school in our district has organized special programs to commemorate this important date. Please review the flyer to find the specific program dates and times for your child's school. We are thrilled to honor and pay tribute to our U.S. veterans for their unwavering dedication and service to our nation! #LCisHome

Throughout October, we are honoring National Principals Month! Today, we’re excited to share a Flashback Friday photo of Mrs. Kingsmore as a senior at Lawrence County High School. Mrs. Kingsmore reminisced about all the things she enjoyed during her time as a student at LCHS. She shared, “I loved cheering through all four years of high school. LCHS homecoming week was always a lot of fun, as it allowed everyone to come together and get involved. I was also active, serving on the yearbook staff and as a member of the FCCLA club.”
Mrs. Kingsmore is celebrating her 13th year in education! She graduated from Lawrence County High School in 2010 and is a graduate of Alice Lloyd College. Mrs. Kingsmore served for ten years as a 4th-grade teacher at Louisa East, was a District Resource Teacher (DR) for two years, and has now served as the principal at Louisa West for over a year.
Mrs. Kingsmore leads Louisa West Elementary School with profound dedication and kindness, ensuring that her students and staff recognize their value and worth. Together with her team, she provides care and support to some of our district's youngest learners. Mrs. Kingsmore and the Louisa West team are dedicated to providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences in their classrooms every day. Mrs. Kingsmore shared her aspirations for her younger students as they progress in their education. “I hope they achieve - there are so many more opportunities for students now, along with incredible programs and pathways. I hope our students take the time to explore and find their interests. I hope they dream big, but also think of ways to contribute to their hometown. I also hope they take the time to soak up the company of all the people around them. The years fly by, and life goes by quickly.” Mrs. Kingsmore leaves us with a kind and caring message to her LWES students and their parents.
Dear Students,
Being your principal has been one of the most rewarding jobs. Seeing you grow from the nervous students walking in on your first day of preschool or kindergarten to the confident boys and girls when you leave the West is one of the greatest joys. Louisa West is where your love for learning and exploring begins, and I take great pride in making it the best experience possible for you. You are blessed with the very best teachers around, and I hope you know how much we all love you. Seeing your smiles each day and at special events makes the tough days worth it. I look forward to seeing where life takes you. You may be little now, but I hope that your dreams stay big! Parents, thank you for trusting me with your children and for your involvement in their education. It is an honor to be at Louisa West with the littles!
LWES Principal,
Mrs. Kingsmore

Dear Parents,
Due to a train stopped on the tracks in Louisa, our bus dismissal time will be impacted.
This occurrence happened before dismissal, and we are working to provide alternative routes.
We'd like to ask for your patience as we deal with this logistics issue. Again, dismissal times will
