Lawrence County FCA is hosting Fields of Faith on Wednesday, October 22nd, at 7 PM. We invite all students and the community to come out and support this great event. We hope to see you there!
We have had to run our Bulldog Bucks shop bi-weekly to give us time to restock....so we will do a pizza party on Friday for the class with the highest attendance this week! Can't wait to see who the winner is.
Here are the remaining events for October at Louisa West! We had a good increase in attendance last week and lots of learning and experiences for our kids. For Red Ribbon Week- Preschool ONLY will wear their costumes on Thursday, Oct. 30th. Ready for another great week!
Here is a look at our week at Louisa West! In the pictures you'll see- students worked hard during WIN time (intervention) in and out of the classroom in small groups, first grade students received Heggerty phonemic awareness instruction and Really Great Reading Phonics instruction, preschool practiced counting and number formation- along with a Halloween themed Science experiment and counting activity, our Kindergarten visited Mountain Home Place, First grade visited the LC Public Library today, and Preschool attended Heritage Farms. It has been a GREAT week of learning and experiences for our students! #Proudofourpups

Let's get ready for Football Friday! The LCHS Bulldogs play the Estill County Engineers on Friday, Oct 17th at LVJR Memorial Stadium with kickoff set for 7:30 PM! It's also TRMC Youth League Night! So all youth league football players and cheerleaders will receive Free Admission into the game. They will also be recognized on the field during halftime! Come out and let's support our LC Bulldogs! Mrs. Cooper has started a Mileage Club for our PE classes at the West! Students begin each PE class by walking or running three or more laps! They each have a QR code necklace that is scanned to keep track of their independent laps and receive a "toe token" to put on their necklace for every two miles that they complete. They can also earn a foot on the wall by completing 5 miles collectively for their class. The classes are competing to see who earns the most miles, and the kids are loving it! This is a great way to introduce physical activity and endurance in our young kids. Thank you, Mrs. Cooper!

We are SO proud of our Kindergarten students! The ABC Fashion show was a success. It takes a lot of courage to stand up and speak in front of a crowd at a young age. Mrs. Gauze is working on a video with more pictures. Until then, here are a few. Thanks to all who attended!

Announcement! Please be aware that the LC School bus #132 was involved in an incident. The bus was pulling onto Bulldog Lane from Louisa Middle School when a car hit the safety arm of the bus. Please note that there was no other damage to the actual bus. All students are safe. However, this incident will cause a delay in students' arrival times at home.

Heads up- we will celebrate Youth League Homecoming the week we return from Fall Break with simple dress up days! Our October events will be posted next weekend to prepare for returning from Fall Break. Have a great break!
Reminder! LC Schools will be closed from Monday, September 29th, through Friday, October 3rd, for fall break. School will resume on Monday, October 6th. We hope our students, staff, and their families have a safe and restful break!
Congratulations to Ms. Patricia Miller, who retires today from LC Schools after over 17 years of service! Ms. Trish has made a significant impact throughout our school district, both as an instructional assistant and as a bus monitor. She has spent the last several years serving as the instructional assistant for Mrs. Musick's kindergarten class. We wish her the very best and hope she enjoys her retirement! Ms. Trish, you will be missed!
