We would like to send out a huge Thank you to the LC transportation Department and the drivers James Pauley Barker and Helen Hughes for coming to the West this morning and teaching our students about bus safety.
The LC Schools Welcome Back Breakfast was a huge success! Thank you to Pathways for sponsoring the event! Student presenters did a marvelous job representing their school! Mrs. Webb, LC Superintendent, presented "Home has Value" to our 374 staff members. @LawrenceCoSch
LC Schools would like to express our gratitude to the faculty and staff for their hard work in preparing our schools for their students' first day back! The hallways, classrooms, and playgrounds were filled with smiling faces. As our students settle in throughout the district, we hope everyone has a successful school year filled with learning and growth!
Just a few reminders for afternoon pick up. First, you will come down the access road and give your name to Mrs. Burns, who will be standing by the little building. Next, you will go park in the middle (if you have a student coming from the East please park by the fence so we can keep everything moving). Then, a teacher will bring your child to the car to be loaded. Remember turning out of the lot is a right turn only. Left turns hold up the line in the loop area.
Please be patient with us the first couple of days because it may take a little longer than normal. Everyone helping with dismissal is learning new parents and new vehicles coming through.
LC Schools is excited that tomorrow is the students' first day of school! Administrators and teachers have been busy preparing their schools and classrooms for their students. We know it is going to be a wonderful school year! Please remember to watch for school buses tomorrow morning and evening. We wish everyone a great school year!

Here are our maps for morning and afternoon loop. There is a change in pickup. All students will be brought out the same door in the afternoon. Morning drop off will remain the same.
Wednesday morning Kindergarten parents only will be allowed to walk your child in. Our doors open at 7:15 and we will need all parents out by 8:00 so we can feed our Kindergarten students breakfast. All 1st grade students will go to the cafeteria for breakfast when they get to school.

Louisa West Elementary School would like to welcome Mrs. Mary Anne Pack as our new Math Coach.
Thank you to our Community Partner, the Lawrence County Fiscal Court, for donating $49,000 from the opioid settlement fund to LC Schools. This donation will continue our work of providing an anti-drug message and a positive lifestyle curriculum!

Congratulations to Mrs. Courtney Kingsmore on being selected as the new principal of Louisa West Elementary School! Mrs. Kingsmore taught at LEES for nine years and has been a LC District Resource Teacher/ESS Coordinator for the past two years.
