Celebrating National Principals Month in October!
Throughout October, we are honoring National Principals Month! Today, we’re excited to share a delightful way back Wednesday photo of Mrs. Trimble as a third-grader, a student in Mrs. Jones’s class at Louisa Elementary School. Mrs. Trimble reminisced about her cherished memories and interests. “From a young age, I was often seen with a fishing pole in hand, all thanks to my Grandad, Bob Kise. This tradition helped us create cherished memories together. After my dad's passing, our fishing trips became a meaningful way to spend quality time with each other. We fished all the time! During the kids' tournaments, I always used a cane pole. I was able to compete alongside Kristy and Ryan Sammons, as well as Alan Short, which made for a fun, enjoyable rivalry!”
Mrs. Trimble is celebrating her 22nd year in education! She dedicated 12 years to teaching kindergarten and serving at Louisa West before becoming the principal for the past 10 years at Fallsburg Elementary School. We are truly grateful for her unwavering commitment and dedication to her students. Mrs. Trimble is always seeking out programs and activities that offer FES students valuable educational opportunities to encourage their growth! We appreciate her unwavering leadership and dedication to her students and staff. Mrs. Trimble leaves us with some kind and caring words for her FES students!
Dear Students,
As your principal, I see the incredible potential and unique talents each of you brings to our school every single day. Whether you're excelling in math, creating beautiful art, leading on the sports field, or simply being a kind and supportive friend, you are already making a difference. Every day is a fresh start—a new chance to be a little better than you were the day before. I am so proud to be your principal, and I can't wait to see all the fantastic things you will achieve. Go out there, give it your all, and be the absolute best you! Love, Mrs. Trimble

Mr. Bradshaw's LCHS carpentry class recently visited the Carpenters Local 472 Training Facility in Grayson, KY. This field trip granted students a chance to step outside their classrooms and provided them with valuable insights into the world of carpentry, skilled trades, and the importance of vocational training. Upon arriving at the Carpenters Local 472 Training Facility, the students were greeted by experienced carpenters who shared their personal journeys into the world of skilled trades. The facility itself is a hub of learning and development, equipped with state-of-the-art tools and resources that showcase modern carpentry techniques. The students were excited about the hands-on portion of the training center. This experience was not only educational, but it also encouraged students to consider their futures beyond the walls of high school.

Louisa East is delighted to introduce its new up-and-coming artist, Lincoln Shannon! Ms. Mary Shannon, a LEES instructional assistant, shared Lincoln’s story with us. “He didn’t seem to like recess very much. So, his mom mentioned to me that he liked sidewalk chalk. I brought some the next day, and he drew the bulldog picture. I just thought it would be an awesome idea for a Bulldog shirt. So, I sent it to a company, and they put it on a shirt for us. They are still available to purchase!” The LEES school community is in love with Lincoln's t-shirt design, and we appreciate Ms. Shannon’s quick thinking and action in getting the design on t-shirts! If you would like to purchase a t-shirt with Lincoln’s signature bulldog design, here is the link:

The Challenger Learning Center in Hazard, KY, recently hosted a facilitated training session by Dataseam, which LCHS senior Aiden Mynhier attended. This training is closely linked to Aiden's coursework for Dataseam, as part of his two-year apprenticeship. Mr. Brian Gupton, the CEO of Dataseam, visited and talked with the apprenticeship class. Through Aiden’s participation in the training, he successfully secured 10 Apple desktop computers for our school district. A fun fact about the Challenger Learning Center is that it is one of only 19 centers in the United States, funded by NASA, that aims to inspire and educate middle and high school students.
