Louisa East Elementary Basketball Spotlight!
Louisa East Elementary School's boys' basketball teams for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades recently traveled to Lexington, KY, to participate in the KY Elementary State Basketball Tournament! This exciting event featured 37 teams from across the state competing to bring home a championship title to their hometowns.
We congratulate Louisa East's 3rd-grade basketball team for clinching the state championship! Their tournament journey began on Saturday, when they first defeated the Christian Academy of Louisville. They then defeated Russell County, securing the #1 seed in their tournament bracket. In the first round of the tournament, the team defeated Owsley County 18-10. This victory set the stage for a rematch against the Christian Academy of Louisville in the championship game. The Bulldogs raced ahead and maintained their lead, ultimately winning the game 20-7! Throughout the tournament, the team outscored its opponents 64-29. Again, congratulations to the LEES 3rd-grade team for bringing home the state championship title home to Louisa!
The Louisa East 4th-grade basketball team delivered an impressive performance, finishing the state tournament with a 3-1 record! They narrowly lost by just 2 points in the semifinal match. Over the course of the tournament, they outscored their opponents 109-81.
The Louisa East 5th-grade team excelled at the state basketball tournament, posting a 4-1 record and earning the state runner-up title. They dominated their opponents with an impressive overall score of 219-128.
We are truly proud of the dedication and effort displayed by the three LEES grade-level basketball teams! A big thank you goes out to our student-athletes and coaches for their hard work and dedication to this athletic program! #LCisHome
