As we continue celebrating KY Board of Education Recognition Month, we recognize Ms. Barbara Robinson. Ms. Robinson serves District 5, which includes the Fallsburg, Buchanan, and Deep Hole areas. We appreciate Ms. Robinson's many years dedicated to our students and schools.
After reviewing road conditions across county bus routes, Friday, January 17, 2025, will be a traditional snow day for students. Teachers will participate in district professional development. The May date for this PD will now be used as a student makeup day. Stay safe and warm!
January is more than just a month on the calendar. It's KY School Board Recognition Month, a time when we pause to honor the invaluable contributions of our school board members. Today, we shine a spotlight on Mr. Jim See, the LC Board of Education Chair, who has dedicated 19 years to serving LC Schools. Mr. See represents District 2, including the areas of Spring Hill, Adams, the Point Section, Stella Moore, and Brushy. We deeply appreciate his service and the difference he has made in the lives of our students and community.
Lawrence County will have NTI Day 8 on Thursday, January 16, 2025. We have traveled LC roads and conferred with local officials. Continued low temps are causing continuing icy conditions and refreezing on bus routes. Stay safe and warm! We hope to see everyone in person soon.

LCHS is thrilled to announce the Apprenticeship Building America 2 (ABA2) Program! Mr. Sparks, our dedicated Career Support Specialist, is currently working with 27 LCHS students on apprenticeship placement within our community businesses. We are deeply grateful for the invaluable support of our community business partners, who play a crucial role in providing career exploration opportunities and enhancing our students' employability skills. Dr. Collins, an employment mentor, has already begun working with the first group of students, focusing on various aspects of career readiness. We are very excited about the many opportunities that await our LCHS seniors!
Due to ongoing winter weather, Lawrence County will have NTI on Thursday, January 9, and Friday, January 10. Power outages have decreased across the county, but we know there are still areas with issues. We will work with any students who need extensions due to outage issues.
