The LC Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 school schedule! The opening day for students is set for August 14th! The opening day for preschool students is set for August 21st! We hope this helps in planning for upcoming family vacations and events!

The Fire Science pathway is the newest of the Career & Technical Education programs offered at LCHS. Captain/Training Officer, Steven Wilburn teaches the interactive program where students gain skills in fire prevention, suppression, and AHA certification.

LMS students won the Student Attendance Challenge! A big shout out to the 8th-graders, who led with the highest attendance for the week! The LMS staff won the Staff Attendance Challenge!

Mr. Hinkle's heavy equipment class always has LCHS seniors pursuing their CDLs
(Commercial Drivers License) and other related careers. LCHS students develop skills on heavy equipment simulators, helping to prepare them for future machinery operations.

Mr. West's engineering class is currently working on a scale model of the up-and-coming outdoor Living Lab! The project will be unveiled during the spring science night. The LCHS students are excited about working to enhance the outdoor space!

Fallsburg Elementary teacher, Mrs. Brojakowski, recently explored a unit on Appalachian music artists' perspectives on coal. The students were deeply immersed in the lessons and enjoyed analyzing local musicians' lyrics devoted to the topic of coal.

The LCHS Human Body Systems class was fortunate to have a visit from Andrew Delong, Physical Therapy Doctor/Director of Physical Therapy at TRMC. He provided lab instruction on the proper use of goniometers in measuring joint range of motion.
